Psychedelia

These are two paintings I did while doing another painting while waiting for that to dry. Just quick and loose. I never do good flowers, but I liked these two.

Shopping for lunch

In villages and small towns in India life is not so fast paced as it is here in Bangalore. People generally like to buy fresh vegetables and other ingredients for every meal. And the shopping process itself is very interesting and refreshing.

I had a lot of time when I was doing this painting. So did it at a very slow pace. That also allowed me to take some WIP pictures. Posting them too. Hope you like them.

These were made from an arrangement of stuff on my table. First one is done in my usual style. Second one is experimental and is a bit of Jeanne Carbonetti. In the second one I also wanted to focus on the cointreau and the orange as cointreau is made from orange :). Hope you enjoy it.

Market scene with....

Sometimes no matter what one tries the painting just does not become half as good as the sketch.

When I did the sketch I though I had been able to capture the 'buzz' in the market. When I did the first painting I did not have the sketch with me. So when I finally had both of them together I realized how badly I had missed the sketch during the painting. So I tried a new version with different treatment. But still to me the sketch remains the best of them all. It just captures the essence better than the others.
