Polo - II

So here is the second of the Polo series. This was even more difficult. I tried to get that action in this one. What do you think??

p.s. I have tweaked the painting a little. Just undefined the rear hooves of the rear horse a little more. Thanks to Pat for the suggestion.

Polo

I never thought I would be doing this. But after just trying out one horse I got hooked onto horses now. I generally dont do figuratives because I cant really draw that well and secondly there are so less free shapes to work with. But somehow I am enjoying this. I am taking much more time to complete horses. Most of my time is spent a good 2-3 meters from my painting. Just looking at it and thinking of the next step. Which I think is a good thing. It is helping me to grow as an artist.

I thought of creating a series with horses. This is the first of my Polo series. Hope you enjoy. And do leave your feedback. I am all ears.

Cricket @ Lalbagh

Last Sunday I was at Lalbagh again with my painting group. But this time it was more fun as my friend Ramesh Jhawar who had come to Bangalore for a few days also joined in.

Lalbagh becomes quiet a busy place on Sundays with families coming for an outing, photographers coming in to do some clicking, birdwatchers, late joggers, tourists etc pouring in throughout the day. But still there is enough place for everyone under the shade of huge green trees in Lalbagh. And people are often seen playing badminton, freezbee and even gully cricket in the cool shade.

By the way it has been raining quiet a lot here. And it is equally sunny when it is not raining. How is the weatheron your side??

Do keep well... And dont forget to visit Ramesh's blog to see his version of Lalbagh.

The jumper

Here is my first horse painting. Since this was first I did it in a very small size. With more confidence I'll go for bigger size.
Hope you enjoy it.

Sketches

Hi. I thought I would take a sketchbook break and post something from my watercolor sketchbook. Second one is a plein air sketch and the other was done from a newspaper from a black and white photo.

Have a great weekend.

p.s. If you have not sent your entries for Shanghai watercolor biennial, do so as soon as possible. The last date for submission is 11th May.
