Matteo Coffee

Title - Matteo Coffee
Size - 15 x 22 inches
Medium - Watercolor on paper

Trying out a different subject here. The other day on one of painting outings I spent some time sketching in a coffee shop. This painting is based on one of the sketches. Somehow these coffee shops have a weird kind of lighting. It creates a kind of haze all around. It was a big challenge to try and get that feel. Dont know how much I suceeded, but it was worth trying.

Prabal, I think you did a good job of the coffee shop.

Love it! It does have a hazy feel - and also one of it being busy. Love the man huddled over his table, makes me wonder what they are talking about, on his table!

I love it too - It almost seems to add a feeling of movement to the scene. Maybe it's because the legs fade away, as though they are busy! It's very effective indeed :0)

Prabal I think you definitely succeeded! I really love the feel this painting has of being in motion, but also peaceful and still at the same time. And the colors just sparkle against those specks of white! Gorgeous. :)

Looks good, Prabal.I like it.
Did you take the picture of the scene that you sketched?|It can be a real help when you go back and start putting in colour.Looking forward to see more of these.

Kathryn, Hilda,
Thank you for the compliments. :)

Kathy,
You were sitting next to me. SO you cant be the one on the right.. Right?? LOL..

Anand sir,
If you felt that way then its great news for me.

AK sir,
Thank you.

Pat,
Actually they are not talking at all. They are busy with their respective smart phones. I guess smart phones have made them rather dumb. :)

Sandra,
I am so glad you noticed the legs fading away. I was just hoping it adds movement to the scaene. :)

Crystal,
As always you have more to say than me. :). Big Hug..

Arti,
No I did not take a picture. Actually now a days I avoid taking pictures. The drawback is that the accuracy of the place is sacrificed, but I think working from a sketch helps the final work to become a painting.

I like the floor a lot, especially how the girl in the background merges to it a little very nice!
