Polo

I never thought I would be doing this. But after just trying out one horse I got hooked onto horses now. I generally dont do figuratives because I cant really draw that well and secondly there are so less free shapes to work with. But somehow I am enjoying this. I am taking much more time to complete horses. Most of my time is spent a good 2-3 meters from my painting. Just looking at it and thinking of the next step. Which I think is a good thing. It is helping me to grow as an artist.

I thought of creating a series with horses. This is the first of my Polo series. Hope you enjoy. And do leave your feedback. I am all ears.

Title: Polo - I
Size: 16 x 10 inch
Medium: Watercolor on paper

WOW! Action paintings, especially with horses, are NOT easy. You have done a SUPER job. This is fantastic! Kudos to you, Prabal.

Love it! You've caught the heat and the action too.
I love a series of paintings, so am getting myself metaphorically comfy while I wait for the next :) xx

Congratulations it's a great job, I love the clean lines forming the attractive appearance, and very difficult to do for me, congratulations.

Prabal, I have been waiting to see this. You did a fastastic job with the figures and the horses...both are complicated subjects. I especially liked how you mingled the colors...this calls for deep dish. It is on it's way.

Prabal this is FABULOUS. And I don't know what you're talking about not being good at drawing, look at those horses legs! They are awesome, and by far the hardest part of any horse. Why do you think I do so many head studies hmmm??

Anyways, this is really spectacular. Please do more!! I love them. :)

Ricrado,
I am glad you liked it. Appreciate your comment.

Sandra,
It may seem otherwise, but I have a long way to go in drawing. And thank you for your comment.

Carol, AK sir,
Thank you for your encouragement.

Crystal,
I wish I could draw like you. I am very slow and draw very tight. And do not have a style in my drawing too. Anyway I am really happy that you liked this. I am a fan of your horse paintings..

Thanks Vinayak. I hope you liked the next ones too.

Arti,
Yes. These are taking time, but as I said are little addictive. Here I have used french ultra as the cool one and perm orange as the warm one. In the next one I am adding a little sienna to it.

You are doing a fabulous job here Prabal...I know soon it will be so magnificent they will all leap out of the painting...in a way they are already...a delight to see how you are doing them.

the concentration of the colors on where the action is makes for great visual storytelling. and we all know that the art that speaks the most is the greatest piece.
