Goa Series III - Fort Aguada

fort Aguada - watercolorThis is the lighthouse of fort Aguada. Its a very old structure. I tried to capture that old and aged feel of the lighthouse.

Liked the sky..and good job with the foreground as well..
I see more detail in this painting compared to the last two..
The orange shade on the left looks slightly saturated..
overall, awesome !

Thanks PC. The orange is saturated indeed. You got me. :)
This place is a historic place. So it was difficult to take too many liberties. Hence stuck to the actual scene as much as possible.

Sahu, when are you coming back. We'll go again to Goa. :)

I really like the sky. The way you have applied the water color to get a realistic touch is amazing!!

Beautifully painted Prabal! Textured very nicely especially the lighthouse has that old rusty look.
Great work!

Manuel, thank you. Thanks for noticing the white cloud against which the tower was placed to get a focal point.

Yes Prabal! You've painted this very nicely! I feel painting some details only adds to the beauty of the painting. And love the light and those shadows on the walls!

Thanks Ramesh. My initial paintings used to get crowded with detail. So I keep making a conscious effort not to paint too many details. But if it works in a painting, there is nothing like it.
