Detour

A little detour from portraits that I was trying out. Actually this is a second level of detour so to say. Landscapes -> Portraits -> Landscapes. LOL.

After a very long gap I met up with PC to paint. Enjoyed good food cooked by his parents and wife and painting with him. The reference picture was originally on a calendar. It was great to be painting landscapes again. It gives much more freedom you see.

Very beautiful, Prabal. I went and checked out your friend PC. I must say he is a very talented artist too. Nice to have artist friends nearby. Maybe someday I too will know the joy of sharing art time with a friend.

To me, the best part of your painting Prabal, is the boat and the little area around it with the reflection and the reeds. There is lovely depth of tone and colour here.

Carol,
You must find somebody to paint with in your locality. Painting with another artist is always fun and a learning experience.

Sandra, Michelle,
Before I started this painting I thought let me just go crazy with colors. :)

Ak sir,
As I said I wanted to use the colors without inhibition in this painting. Probably thats what worked for it. :)

Frank,
Thanks for the comment. The area that you are taliking about is the focal point of the painting.
