Chilika Stills - III

Learning from my previous painting I was alert while working on this one. Probably a little too alert. Because I feel I became a little too tight here. Anyway that is part of the journey. And I hope to do a little better in the next one. I guess I have used the word 'little' a little too much here. LOL..

By the way sometime back I was interviewed by Crystal Cook and the interview is here. This had completely slipped out of my mind. Hence the late announcement. But as they say better late than never..whatever.. :) And if you have still not seen Crystal's art you must check out her blog and be ready to be stunned.

Title :  Chilika Stills - III

Prabal, it is a "little" bit tighter than your usual work, but a fascinating scene, nonetheless. I'd love to see you paint it again.

I love your watery scenes. I love how I feel as though I could paddle right in. And there is something about the way you portray the warm light in the sky. Beautiful! :0D

I do not feel it is too tight. The subject called for focus in the foreground and softness in the background. I think you accomplished that. Very peaceful-- so you captured a mood. Very nicely done.

Prabal, I was very impressed with your treatment of water in your last piece, and I see it again here. The movement and way the light reflects from it are superb. Well done.

Prabal it's wonderful. Of course, I don't think it's too tight:)) Your colors are fantastic and the atmospheric background is perfect. And your sky is great, I envy it I have trouble with skies in watercolor. Something I plan on working on this year.

Kathryn,

Good suggestion. May be I'll try again after some time..

Sandra,
The ride is free. I am paying for it. :) Thank you for your lovely comment.

Oh Kathy,
Thank you for that huge encouragement. You are a sweetheart.. :)

Oh John,
That is so nice of you to say those kind words for me.

Prabal you totally crack me up. :) A little too much use of the word little. lol. :) I think I do that with awesome. I need to get a thesaurus, what exactly is a good word to replace awesome?? Something awesomer I guess.

Anyways, I totally love this painting. I love all your paintings. I really and truly do. In this one I like the little piece of land separating the water, and the figures. They seem to have a lot of gesture and movement in such a tiny space. Really well done. :))))

Oh and thanks for the kind words friend. The interview was a blast I loved it. :)

Carrie,
That sky is juts few random strokes. I am glad you liked it. And I really wish to see what your approach is going to be for skies. I think it will be exciting..

Congratulations it's a great job, I love how the colors are mixed, and places that reflect a great job, a greeting from the Canary Islands.

Prabal, what makes this painting look so good for me is the way you have achieved distance. Those lovely warm greys gently silhouetting in the distant horizon is gorgeous. Beautiful.

Sometimes its good to be a little different than usual. I really like this painting, Prabal, from that gorgeous sky to the greens of the land and the wonderful way you capture water. The whole has great distance and is really, fabulous! xx

Tight or light...it's amazing! Your sky and water effects are great!

Crystal,
Hmm.. To find a replacement for a awesome word called awesome is impossible. Some words can not be replaced. :)

It makes me feel good that you liked this painting.

Ricardo,
Thank you so much for visiting my blog and leaving a comment for me. Your wishes have reached me here in India. Thank you so much.

Frank,
I am glad you noticed those warms in the sky. Actually I had to push those warms in sky and in distant waters, because the painting otherwise was becoming too cool.

Pat,
Thank you so much for your ever encouraging words.

Deepa,
Glad you liked it and thank you for your comment.
