Saturday Skecthing
Yesterday I attended a session of Life Drawing Club (LDC) and it was great fun. For the first time I drew someone who had actually posed for the sketch. :)
In the evening I did a watercolor sketch from a photograph that I had taken during my visit to Alleppy.

When I come home
Breathe by Pink Floyd has been playing in my head for quiet some time now. And probably that is the reason this painting came out of my imagination. Here are the lyrics of Breathe (reprise).
Breathe (reprise) - Pink Floyd
------------------------------
Home, home again
I like to be there when I can
When I come in cold and tired
It's good to warm my bones beside the fire
Far away across the field
The tolling of the iron bell
Calls the faithful to their knees
To hear the softly spoken magic spells.
Before I sign off, wishing everyone a very very colorful and joyful Holi.

Breathe
This is the last painting of my really small series on Ranganthittu. The title is inspired by a song from Pink Floyd. The Pink Floyd song goes like this...
Breathe
Breathe in the air
Dont be afraid to care
Leave
But dont leave me
Look around, choose your own ground
Long you live and high you fly
Smiles you give and tears you cry
All you touch and all you see
All your life will ever be.
Breathe
Breathe in the air
Dont be afraid to care
Leave
But dont leave me
Look around, choose your own ground
Long you live and high you fly
Smiles you give and tears you cry
All you touch and all you see
All your life will ever be.

Someday, Somewhere
Someday, somewhere, we'll be together. :)
This is the park around Ranganthittu bird sanctaury. My last post also is the same place. My next post will also probably be a painting of the same place.

Come with me
Hear my cries, hear my call
Lend me your ears, see my fall
See my errors, know my faults
Time halts, see my loss
Come with me

Floral Experiments
Size - 11 x 14 inch
Medium - Watercolor on paper
Medium - Watercolor on paper
These are two experiments that I did last week. Both have the same composition, but treatment wise they are completely different. The first one is more of wet in wet and glazing etc while the second one is more of dry brush type. The second one looks a bit hazy, but it is not due to any problem in the photo. The photo is fine. Its the dry brush probably that gives it that look.
By the way I just read a art quote which says 'Art does not tolerate reason'. Completely agree.
