Lillies

Today I am posting a painting I had done earlier, because in the last week I have not painted. I have been drawing mostly. Just thought that my hands were not moving so well with the pencil. So have been just drawing. This painting was a tough one. Did not do justice to it. And further to that my camera did not do justice to the painting. But posting it anyways.

Painting finally

Hi friends. Thank you so much for your good wishes. My eye is good now and I finally I painted yesterday aftera gap of about 2-3 weeks. And it was outdoors. Was feeling a bit rusty and a little tight. So just tried to loosen up a bit on the painting. Probably went a bit too far in some places. I also did a quick sketch of two of my fellow artists. Hope you like them.

p.s. There was an article about the sketching group I belong to in newspaper yesterday. One of my paintings was also published. I dont have a physical copy as I dont get that newspaper, but since they are online its good. :). It is the second last painting in the article. To have a look click here.

On the run

Hi there. The fourth of the series now. After I finished this it reminded me of a number by Pink Floyd called 'On the run'. So I named it the same.

Coming to some news from my side. I have been carrying an acute eye infection since last ten days. Its been very bad and I have not painted during this time. That also means no computers and I have been missing out on all your blogs for a while now. The infection is healing slowly and doctor says it will take minimum ten days more to be okay. I wish such an eye problem never happens to any of you out there. Anyway I'll sign off now and be back soon with better eyes.

Do take care of yourselves.

Morning mood - III

The next of the series now. Very similar composition as the other two. But still it was very interesting to do the composition. Especially that of the left side of the painting. And of course the execution was tricky too.

Using human figures in foreground of a street painting is always a little adventerous. And I wanted to be adventerous :). The human figures had to be detailed enough to suggest some activity and contribute to the mood. And it had to be subtle enough so that light remains the hero of this painting. Hence the dark tree, human figures and the shadow area had to be kept as one big shape; To enhance the feeling of light in the center of the painting, while letting me have my thrill.

All said and done I think I am doing similar compositions right now. Need to break this I guess. Till then good morning, good afternoon, good evening and good night. :)
