This was inspired by many such park paintings by Milind Mulick. This was kind of tough with most of the area in shadow and only a small portion in light. Not really happy with this, but not disappointed also. I need a name for this painting. Any suggestions??

Maausi in acrylic
'Maausi' in my mother tongue means aunt. In general you can address any elderly woman as 'maausi' and this word has a very sweet emotion attached to it.
This woman's face may have hardened over the years because of the hardships she has gone through, but just call her 'maausi' once and see her softer side come alive.
p.s. This is my first acrylic painting.

Fresh start
First of all a very happy 2010 to everyone. And thank you everyone for your direct or indirect help, support, encouragement, criticism, inspiration, appreciation and wishes. I have had a great time here last year and now looking forward to another great year.
I have been on a long break and this is the first painting I have done in this new year. I felt a bit rusty while doing this painting. Every year the farmer has to gear up and start afresh to grow his crops, irrespective of what has happened in the previous year. Its a fresh start for me too and I hope to do a lot in the coming year.

Goa Series IX - Karaoke Night at St Antony's
This painting was the most difficult till now for me. Thats because
1. I had never painted a night scene before.
2. I had no reference photo for this.
3. Capturing the crowd and the energy was a challenge.
Anyways I have tried and made 2 versions of the same scene. The second was was done first on a small sheet and did it very quickly to get a feel of the painting and then I went forward and did the first one. I hope you enjoy it.
